At Jefferson, we don't just talk about safety and quality: We set goals and benchmark our results to ensure we are meeting and exceeding national standards. We use a "Balanced Scorecard" approach to constantly measure our progress toward our goals. This approach provides accountability at all levels and tracks those metrics that have the greatest impact on our strategic values – quality and safety, service, people, growth and finance and operations. In order to enhance and enable our performance, Jefferson utilizes GE's Six Sigma methodologies. Many of our staff have been trained as black belts, green belts and change agents and employ the tools they have mastered to drive positive change in process and behavior.
We constantly survey our patients to obtain valuable feedback on how we delivered their care and whether or not we exceeded their expectations. If you receive one of our surveys in the mail, we ask that you complete and send it back to us so we can improve the care we deliver.
Our physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers practice evidence-based medicine and, where appropriate, utilize protocols and guidelines so that our patients benefit from the most proven methods of care available.
